He has performed in over 30 productions, including appearing on stage at the Stratford Festival near his hometown of Wellesley, and holds an Honor's degree in Musical Theatre Performance from Sheridan College. As a music teacher and former support worker for neurodiverse children, Gavin is passionate about working with students of all ages and abilities, adapting their individual talents and challenges to assist them in growing and improving in ways that motivate them. For vocalists, Gavin can help beginners find confidence in their voice using the foundations of healthy singing. He can provide appropriate repertoire, or work on songs the student chooses. For more advanced singers, he will teach University level technique to explore many colours of the voice, and prepare audition material for professional work or school. Gavin teaches piano to beginners, and enjoys working with children to make their first lessons spark a love for creating their own music. He also works with older beginners and players who are interested in western chording, improvisation, and accompanying themselves while they sing.
