Service Description

Instrument(s): Percussion, Marimba, Cajon Languages Spoken: English, Japanese Location: Toronto, ON Student Specialties: All ages welcome Availabilities: Flexible Rates: $40 / 30 minutes $70 / 60 minutes Short bio: Freelance percussionist, composer, and educator. Commissions for University of Toronto, Metropolitan United Church, and Spectrum Music Canada. She is a highly qualified musician with experience performing in Canada, the US, Europe, and Japan. She’s been teaching percussion for over 15 years for students from JK to University students as well as young adults. As a marimba soloist, she has won top prizes in several competitions, including the South Japan Music Competition and the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. As a composer, she received first place at the Guild Carillonneurs in North America, Slay Slade Warner Arrangement & Transcriptions Competition 2020, Honourable Mention at the Iowa State University Carillon Composition Competition 2019, and Special Jury Mention at the Perpignan Carillon Composition Competition in 2019. She completed a diploma in music at the Oita Prefectural College of Arts and Culture in Japan, a Bachelor's Degree in Music in Percussion Performance from Acadia University, and a Master's Degree in Music from the University of Toronto, Canada.
